Trainee Adviser role

Commitment: Minimum 1 day per week (or 2 half days)

Recruitment timetable: Recruitment throughout the year

General duties: An initial 8 weeks of training to the Assessor role (a triage service). Volunteers in this role find out what the client issue is and then either give information, signpost elsewhere, pass to an advisor or book an appointment, they do not give advice. Once trained and certificated to this role (approx. 25 weeks) you have the option to move on to training for the Adviser role which has similar training over another 25 week period.

Volunteer Drivers

Commitment:                   Minimum 1 day per week

Restrictions:                      Must hold a valid UK driving license with eligibility to drive a 3.5 tonne Van

General duties:                The role will involve driving our new “Urban Advice Vehicle” to various locations across the conurbation of Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole and setting up for outreach Advice sessions. Full Training for role will be given.          

The role of the driver is a very rewarding one as you will get the opportunity to not only make a difference in someone’s life but be active in it.

The driver’s role will ideally suit a fit and active person, who would not be shy in representing the charity as they will be the face (externally) of the charity. We are looking for someone who is patient, reliable, responsible, friendly, encouraging, honest, non-judgemental and open.

A mature natured person; who has good listening skills and will ensure other van team members are looked after.

A good knowledge of the Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole area would be desirable.
