It’s Volunteers Week – Citizens Advice Bournemouth Christchurch and Poole.

Thank you to all our Volunteers – you know who you are!

It’s that time of year again, when we celebrate the fabulous work of Volunteers.  Citizens Advice Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole currently have 80 Volunteers working for the charity, making up 62.5% of the workforce, without whom we would be unable to help the thousands of local people with issues such as benefits, housing and employment.

Our Volunteers are made up of students on placements, people looking to brush up their skills, Trustees and those just interested in helping others.

Thanks to the people who dedicate their time to our charity, over the last financial year, we were able to help over 13,000 clients with over 29,000 issues, increased client’s income by nearly £2.8m and written off over £1.6m of debt.

Recently we nominated John, our Volunteer Representative for a ‘Hidden Hero’ award through Room to Reward and he became one of the successful candidates picked to enjoy a paid for stay in a hotel of his choosing from one of over 400 hotels involved.

We do our best to look after our Volunteers, providing them with the training they need and want, whilst making sure they have access to a free supply of tea, coffee and snacks when working from one of our offices. If you’re interested in becoming one of our Citizens Advice Volunteers or would like more information on the work we do, contact recruitment@citizensadvicebcp.org.uk or visit https://www.citizensadvicebcp.org.uk/get-involved/.
