Welcome to Money Talks from Citizens Advice.
The aim of the project is to provide tailored advice and solutions to improve the financial resilience, money management skills and general wellbeing of clients across Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole.
What is Money Talks?
Money Talks is a service offering assistance to people who are worried about their finances, or want help to understand their options and plan for the future. The purpose is to empower vulnerable individuals by providing both short and long-term guidance. Along with money mentoring, Money Talks will provide support delivered through various channels and offer coaching and guidance with basic digital skills and the use of financial technology.
The project will target those experiencing adverse life events such as:
- Relationship Breakdown
- Health Issues
- Housing/Homelessness issues
- Employment issues
- Significant change in income
It is our aim to help local people to:
- Manage their daily finances
- Withstand unexpected emergencies
- Develop positive habits
- Enhance their knowledge and skills (including digital money skills)
- Change established behaviours
- Access further specialist support, where needed
- Meet their long term financial goals
Funded by JP Morgan and following on from a service successfully piloted at Citizens Advice Wales, we will bring established Citizens Advice Services together with other local organisations to supply a range of options tailored to suit each individual.
How it works?
You can book a session with one of our specialist Money Talks Guides by either contacting us directly using the form below; through your local Citizens Advice; or as a referral from one of our partner organisations. You will need to advise which area in particular you require assistance with. An appointment will be booked for you at the earliest opportunity, and at a suitable location.
From here, we will be able to determine the level of support and guidance you need and further sessions can then be booked, if required.
Please note that this is a guidance service and does not offer specialist or regulated advice. However, we can refer you to other Citizens Advice services where necessary.
