One of the important responsibilities Citizens Advice Bournemouth hold as a charity is in taking action on the issues that people face to prevent further detriment.

Based on evidence gathered from client issues over the last financial year, five areas have been highlighted for further research and campaigns:

1) The rights and responsibilities of employers and employees:

With a campaign covering an explanation of unfair dismissal; pay and entitlement requirements; bullying; and outlining work discrimination

2) Landlord responsibilities towards repair work:

Raise awareness on action to take should a landlord fail to carry out needed repairs.

3) Homelessness:

Drive a campaign for organisations to provide a more cohesive service for those facing homelessness.

4) Consumer awareness:

Educate people on how to verify the capability of the workmen.

5) The cost of living:

Produce a media campaign on the cost of living, looking at the use of food vouchers and personal stories.
